Eurac Research is an innovative private institute in South Tyrol, consisting of five research departments, a service department, and a Convention Centre. The linguistic, historical and cultural wealth of this region is the starting point for the research conducted by the Institute for Specialized Communication and Multilingualism which belongs to the Applied Linguistics Research Department. Thanks to the strong multilingual and multicultural nature of South Tyrol's population, it can aspire to offer its scientific contribution to the larger process of political, economic and social integration initiated with the birth of the European Union.
