New Zealand Society of Translators and Interpreters
28 - 29 May 2016
Christchurch, New Zealand
In 2016 NZSTI will celebrate its 30th anniversary. aat the NZSTI Conference, to be held in Christchurch on 28 and 29 May 2016, will thus be a time to celebrate, a time to reflect on the past, but also a time to address the challenges of the future in a world characterized by rapid change and increasing complexity.
For language service providers, changes in society and in technology increasingly call into question professional boundaries also. Increasingly we are called upon to be not only language workers but also mediators between cultures. Our markets, our competition, as well as our opportunities for professional cooperation, are increasingly international and intercultural.
Proposals are invited for papers, presentations and workshops addressing topics that broadly fit into the context outlined above. Preference will be given to items occupying a 30-minute time slot (allowing time for Q&A), but that preference will not be applied rigidly.
Proposals should be approximately 200 words in length and should be accompanied by an indication of the envisaged time-frame, and should be received no later than 31 March 2016.
Please submit proposals electronically to the following email address:
